Paris Saint Germain sporting director Leonardo has commented on loanee Mauro Icardi’s future with the club amidst his good goalscoring form.

Icardi joined the Ligue 1 outfit back in the Summer transfer window on a season long loan from Inter and as part of the deal PSG got themselves an option to sign the 26-year-old Argentine on a permanent basis for a sum of €70 million.

“Six months in football are an eternity, this is not something we are currently thinking about. Today his situation is very stable. Icardi knows what he is experiencing and we hope to go on like this,” he remarked in the mixed zone following the Champions League draw earlier on today, as quoted by TuttoMercatoWeb.

“He is a true number nine and is completed to perfection with thanks to his teammates. We signed him because we thought he could be a protagonist.”

Since his arrival in the French capital, Icardi has made 16 appearances across all competitions in which he has scored 13 goals and provided two assists.
