Disputes over the alleged signing of former Borussia Dortmund manager Thomas Tuchel are proving to have heavy internal consequences.
The French paper L’Equipe reports that the decision to bring Tuchel to PSG was made by request of the Qatari head of state Emir Tamim Al Thani. This is much to the displeasure of Antero Henrique.
The Portuguese sporting director is believed to have preferred current FC Porto manager Sérgio Conceição to Tuchel.
Tuchel has not been officially signed yet, though it is believed only to be out of politeness, as Unai Emery still has to finish managing the final six matches for PSG this season.
PSG, owned by the ‘Qatar Sports Investments’ group, can win Ligue 1 this weekend with a win over Monaco. They have a chance to win the domestic treble, as they won the Coupe de la Ligue title with a 3-0 win over Monaco, and are in the semi-finals of the French Cup against Caen.
