PSG are set to part ways with Uruguay international defensive midfielder Manuel Ugarte (23) and have set a €70m price tag on the former CP Sporting player, according to a report from L’Equipe. Manchester United are reportedly keen to acquire the services of the Uruguay international with personal terms agreed between the Premier League club and the 23-year-old defensive midfielder, according to a report from Fabrizio Romano.

The Italian reporter adds that Manuel Ugarte is keen to join Manchester United despite the Red Devils missing out on Champions League football next season. Manchester United now need to agree on a transfer fee with PSG. The Ligue 1 champions signed Manuel Ugarte last summer from CP Sporting in exchange for a €60m transfer fee. Logically, Les Parisiens would like to recoup their losses and more for a player who lost his starting spot under the tutelage of Luis Enrique.

L’Equipe understands that Manchester United can’t afford for now a €70m outlay on Manuel Ugarte, meaning the Red Devils probably need to raise funds from players’ sales. The outlet adds that the Premier League club executives are considering proposing PSG a loan with an option to buy to lure the Uruguay international to Old Trafford. Manuel Ugarte would be the second Ligue 1 player to leave the French top tier for Manchester United after Lille’s Leny Yoro (18). Like Manuel Ugarte, the highly-rated center-back is represented by Portuguese agent Jorge Mendes and is also set to cost €70m with add-ons taken into account.
