According to Sky Sports Germany journalist Patrick Berger, Paris Saint-Germain are one of several top European sides tracking PSV Eindhoven winger Johan Bakayoko (20).

According to L’Équipe, PSG’s interest in Bakayoko dates back to January 2023. Les Parisiens were in the market for a winger late in the winter transfer window last season and amidst their failed attempts to lure Rayan Cherki and Malcom to the Parc des Princes, Bakayoko was considered as an alternative.

Ultimately, PSG set their sights on Hakim Ziyech, who at the time was playing for Chelsea, however, despite the Moroccan international making the trip to Paris on deadline day, the move fell through due to a bureaucratic error from the Premier League side.

PSG face stiff Premier League competition

However, with Kylian Mbappé (25) expected to depart at the end of the season, attacking reinforcements are on the agenda at PSG. As per a report from Sky Germany, Les Parisiens have retained their interest in Bakayoko, whose contract, which runs until 2027, does not include a release clause. The Belgian international is valued between €50-60m. Brentford saw their €40m bid for Bakayoko rejected by PSV in January.

PSG do, however, face stiff competition, should they decide to make concrete steps to sign Bakayoko. Liverpool, Manchester City, Chelsea and Borussia Dortmund are also monitoring the situation.
