It has been a busy few days for Kylian Mbappe, whose recent trip to Sweden during the international break has sparked all sorts of controversy.

Earlier today, it was reported by RMC Sport, citing Swedish media, that Stockholm police have opened an investigation into an alleged rape that was reported in the hotel Mbappe was staying at last week.

However, Mbappe denied these reports, branding them as ‘Fake News’, and even hinted at PSG and the French media formulating these allegations just before the hearing on Tuesday.

“It’s becoming so predictable, just before the hearing as if by chance,” Mbappe wrote on social media, insinuating that PSG have smarted a smear campaign against him in order to paint a bad image ahead of the hearing.

The hearing, concerning a sum of €55 million which Mbappe claims he is owed, is set to happen before the Appeals Tribunal of the Professional Football League tomorrow.

PSG issues response to Mbappe

In light of Mbappe’s tweet aimed at PSG, the French club have decided to issue a response, as per RMC Sport (h/t SPORT).

“It’s a shame. We will maintain our class and our dignity,” PSG said in a statement to the French outlet. The club are also reportedly upset with the forward’s post.

The response from the French club should raise further animosity between them and Mbappe as they gear up for an important hearing tomorrow.

In September, the French League handed Mbappe a major boost by ordering PSG to pay the aforementioned amount. But it seems the final verdict will be given by the LFP’s Appeals Tribunal.
