PSG remain in Mary Earps race with Arsenal move not ruled out | OneFootball

Paris Saint-Germain are willing to do whatever it takes to sign Mary Earps from Manchester United this summer, while Arsenal are not totally out of the race for the England goalkeeper, 90min understands.

The 31-year-old’s contract at United is set to expire this summer following a five-year tenure at the club.

Sources have told 90min that Earps remains in ongoing conversations with United over a contract extension, but that a deal is not yet close as she wants guarantees over what the club will look like next season, including transfer recruitment and Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s plans for the women’s team.

United turned down a world-record offer for the Lionesses star from Arsenal last season, while interest from PSG has grown.

PSG are still hot on Earps’ tracks and willing to make her one of the best-paid players in women’s football, but 90min understands another offer from United is not off the table and Arsenal cannot be ruled out, despite suggestions their interest has cooled of late. Earps is still weighing up whether she wants to stay in England or go abroad.

Earps hasn’t been quiet about her frustrations with the Red Devils this season, most recently claiming she’s felt like a "punching bag", even though manager Marc Skinner has claimed he wants her to stay.

Speaking to Sky Sports last month, she said: "The beginning of the season was really tough, I felt really upset about things that were being said about me and things that came out that weren’t true.

"I’ve tried to be professional, keep my head down, work hard, and get on with my job and that’s been hard. I’ve been a punching bag at times.

"I’ve asked the club for some confirmation on what they’re trying to achieve and when I have those answers I’ll be able to make a decision. It’s up to the club."

Although United managed to reign triumphant in the Women’s FA Cup earlier this year, the club had a disappointing season in the Women’s Super League, finishing fifth.
