Sergio Ramos’ PSG future remains very much in the air despite his impressive recent form, according to reports in his homeland.
AS claim that the club’s hierarchy have been pleased with the veteran’s displays, particularly in Europe where he shone in both games against Bayern Munich despite their elimination, and his leadership abilities.
His contract is due to expire at the end of the season but despite that ticking clock, no negotiations have started with Ramos’ camp yet as the club continue to consider his situation.
There are other factors which may impact their decision-making outside of his displays, such as his age (he is now 36), with the French champions in no rush to make a call and will not make a choice on a new deal for Ramos until May.
The impending arrival of centre-back Milan Škriniar from Inter will also limit his opportunities going forward but with Presnel Kimpembe sidelined until November with an Achilles issue, defensive numbers could be an area of concern for Luis Campos and lead to extending Ramos.
If he is offered a new contract, it is reported that it would be a one-year deal with no increase in salary.
After a difficult injury-hit first season in the French capital, Ramos has recovered his form in the current campaign, making 36 appearances so far in all competitions.
