LOSC Lille defender Leny Yoro might be switching teams during this upcoming summer transfer window. The center-back’s contract ends in 2025, so he’s at a crossroads regarding his future. Lille will have to put him up for sale if he opts not to renew his contract.

Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain are in the race to sign the 18-year-old player. Yet, the Spanish giants might have the upper hand as they finalize the deal to satisfy both the player and Lille.

CBS Sports’ Jonathan Johnson spoke to PSG Talk to discuss the latest regarding the Yoro saga and noted that he believes the race for the young Frenchman is between the Parisians and Los Blancos.

“It certainly seems to be more of a sort of Real or PSG, and the latest noises suggest that Real could be close. But you know, he’s been very close to the top of PSG’s list for quite some time. So, I don’t think it’s quite over just yet. Obviously, the Mbappé saga is dragging out again, as very few people will be surprised to hear.

“I mean, it could go either way. You can sort of understand Yoro looking at Real Madrid as an opportunity, very similar to Rafael Varane when he left Lens for Real. But also, at the same time, PSG now is a completely different proposition [than] PSG 12 months ago. And there is sort of an obvious kind of pathway to development and success for Yoro as well.”

A recent report revealed that Real Madrid have even found a solution to complete the transfer of Yoro. The Merengue club could, therefore, consider completing the transfer of the young Frenchman this summer before loaning him to LOSC for a season.

It will be interesting to see if this route allows the La Liga team to secure one of the most prominent young talents in French football.
