Barcelona continue to sweat over the future of French forward Ousmane Dembele.

The 24-year-old is in the final seven months of his current contract with the club. Talks over a new deal have been held with his agent, Moussa Sissoko, but an agreement is yet to be reached, as the winger is seeking better terms than those being offered.

In addition, the interest from clubs in the Premier League has been complicating matters for Barca. Recently, it was claimed that Dembele was offered a monster deal worth €15 million per year, along with a €15 million signing-on bonus by Newcastle United.

While the offer was very appealing to the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner, the fact that Newcastle are facing the prospect of relegation held him back from accepting the offer. But with each passing day, a new club seems to pop up as a fresh suitor for Dembele.

El Nacional is now reporting that Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain have their sights set on the ex-Borussia Dortmund winger. Les Parisiens raided Barcelona this past summer to sign Lionel Messi on a free transfer and are now plotting a similar move for Dembele.

The French capital club are set to lose Kylian Mbappe at the end of the season when his contract runs out, with the young forward having rejected multiple offers of renewal. This has led to club president Nasser Al-Khelaifi identifying Dembele as a potential replacement for the Real Madrid transfer target.

The prospect of signing a gifted French player on a free transfer is seen as something too good to pass up by PSG. The Barcelona star, for his part, would be very much open to the prospect of a transfer to Paris, as he gets to return to his homeland and play alongside Messi and Neymar.

Dembele will be eligible to negotiate with foreign clubs over a pre-contract agreement starting January. So, time is running out fast for Barcelona to tie the injury-prone winger down to a new deal.
