Paris Saint-Germain took on reigning Ligue 1 champions Lille at the Stade Pierre-Mauroy and earn three points after a 5-1 victory.
Scorers: Botman 28′; Pereira 10′, 51′, Kimpembe 32′, Messi 38′, Mbappé 67′
It was an entertaining match on Sunday as action flowed for both sides at either end of the pitch.
An error from the hosts would see PSG find the back of the net first as goalkeeper Ivo Grbić spilled the ball allowing Danilo Pereira to pounce for 1-0.
Over time, Lille pulled themselves back into the game when some acrobatics from Sven Botman beat Gianluigi Donnarumma despite the goalkeeper getting a hand to the ball.
However, things wouldn’t stay level for long as the floodgates opened for PSG.
Presnel Kimpembe turned in a way-ward corner kick from Lionel Messi for the lead and the former Barcelona man went on to add a third minutes later.
Coming out after the break, the momentum continued in favour of the visitors with Pereira securing a brace and Kylian Mbappé joining in on the action to wrap up a statement win.
