PSG are pushing to sign Juventus striker and Serbia international Dušan Vlahović (23), according to a report tonight from Le Parisien. The 23-year-old sits reportedly rather high on Paris Saint-Germain’s shortlist to bolster their attacking options. Currently, given Mauro Icardi is set to move imminently to Galatasaray, Hugo Ekitike is the only out-and-out striker in Luis Enrique’s squad. The 21-year-old only registered four goals and as many assists last season with Les Parisiens. The former Stade de Reims forward is set to be transfer-listed.
The French outlet understand that PSG are yet to make a bid to their Juventus counterparts over Vlahović. However, the Ligue 1 champions have enquired about the Serbian’s intentions. Vlahović is said to be very keen on moving to the French capital. PSG’s pursuit of the Serbian may be explained by the fact their other targets look out of reach. Marcus Thuram has joined Inter. Harry Kane (29) has agreed to join Bayern Munich whilst it will take a mammoth €180m to purchase Napoli striker Victor Osimhen. Vlahović arrival would be part of a plan by PSG to build an attacking force with diverse and complementary set of skills, with Kylian Mbappé at the heart of it all.
The prospect of playing Champions League year in, year out with PSG may appeal to Vlahović, given Juventus are reportedly negotiating a deal with UEFA to be expelled from next season’s Conference League as a sanction for FFP breaches. Le Parisien understand that, despite a strong interest for Vlahović, Eintracht Frankfurt Randal Kolo Muani is still being courted by the Ligue 1 champions.
