PSG are pushing to sign Inter Milan and Atletico Madrid target Marcus Thuram from Borussia Monchengladbach this summer.
This according to Spanish news outlet Relevo, via FCInterNews, who report that the Parisians are currently the team making the biggest effort to try and bring the 25-year-old in on a free transfer now that his contract with Gladbach is in its final weeks.
Thuram will leave Gladbach this summer.
The Frenchman has played his final match for the Foals already. The Bundesliga team’s Sporting Director has already confirmed that Thuram is on his way out.
The World Cup finalist will have his pick of teams to join. His contract with Gladbach runs out at the end of this month, and he can negotiate to join any club as a free agent.
Thuram will have no shortage of suitors this summer.
Then, there’s Inter.
The club had identified Thuram as a key attacking reinforcement after Romelu Lukaku had left to join Chelsea.
However, a knee injury to the Gladbach striker caused Inter to look elsewhere. In the end, Joaquin Correa arrived from Lazio instead.
However, this has not spelled the end of Inter’s interest in signing Thuram.
On the contrary, the Nerazzurri have been interested in signing the Frenchman on a free transfer for months now.
Their problem, however, is the amount of competition for his signature.
Relevo note that Atletico are also keen. However, at the moment the Spanish outlet report that PSG could provide their biggest obstacle to signing Thuram.
According to Relevo, the French champions want to wrap up a deal for Thuram on a free transfer soon.
This would follow their signing of Real Madrid’s Marco Asensio, also on a free transfer.
