The growing rivalry between Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona looks to be subject to a slight détente, at least between the two club presidents, who have begun to strive for more agreeable relations.
The history between the two teams is not particularly long but it has become particularly bitter, with both clubs having fought across transfer windows for rival targets, challenged one another on the subject of the European Super League, and aired public attacks on the other through sniping press conferences.
Despite this, there have been some signs of encroachment between PSG’s Nasser Al-Khelaifi and Barcelona’s Joan Laporta when they met in a meeting held last Autumn ahead of the European Super League judgement.
According to L’Équipe, these slightly warmer relations will see Al-Khelaifi attend a formal lunch between the two clubs this afternoon ahead of their Champions League contest this evening. The PSG president had been unable to attend last week’s lunch because of Eid, and his observation of Ramadan.
