Paris Saint-Germain president Nasser Al-Khelaifi has insisted that the French champions are not in the market for any signings in January, despite links to Inter’s Milan Skriniar.

The Slovakia international has been paired with a move to Paris next month, particularly with his contract at Inter due to expire at the end of the season, but Al-Khelaifi suggested that PSG would not swoop for the centre-back when the transfer window opens at the turn of the year.

In an interview published in today’s newspaper edition of L’Equipe, the Qatari offered an insight into PSG’s plans for the remainder of the season and argued that the squad assembled in the French capital was complete, with no need for additions at this moment in time.

“I can say that I don’t think we will invest in new signings in January, it’s not planned,” Al-Khelaifi claimed.

“We don’t need new players, we have to keep the same team and move forward, we’ve found a collective spirit and we’re fine with it.”

Inter are looking to convince Skriniar to sign a new contract before his deal expires in June, with the former Sampdoria defender available as a free agent from the summer unless an extension is agreed.

The 27-year-old has made 236 appearances for the Nerazzurri since arriving in 2017, scoring 11 goals.
