FC Barcelona has produced some of the most eye-catching football talents in recent years. While La Masia and their youth products have almost always been hailed for their technical qualities, the new generation is simply a different class. Even the sheer number of Barcelona talents now in the first team is mind-blowing.
The obvious players to point out would be the likes of Lamine Yamal and Pau Cubarsi. Two extremely talented 17-year-old La Masia products who help the team on different ends of the pitch, their contributions to the first team have already been crucial so far.
Understandably, they are attracting interest from some of Europe’s biggest and most powerful sides as a result. According to reports, Yamal has already attracted the likes of French club Paris Saint-Germain previously to consider offering a huge transfer fee for him.
Now, however, it seems like PSG may want the other 17-year-old prodigy at Barcelona as well. According to Fichajes, both Luis Enrique and the Ligue 1 outfit are thoroughly impressed by Pau Cubarsi’s growth and quality so far, and they would want him to join PSG.
Beyond just his notable defensive qualities that make him such an elite prospect, it is the youngster’s ball-playing abilities that make him stand out from not just other players in his age-group but in general as well. Even when he is under heavy pressure, he composure is almost enviable.
For these reasons, he has now become a key target for PSG. A club that does not see money as a problem, the French side would be more than willing to splash the cash for him. Moreover, given Barça’s financial predicaments in recent years, it could be something that PSG believes would work in their favor.
However, it seems unlikely for now that Barcelona would even consider letting go of Cubarsi. Even the player himself is attached to the Catalan side and his future seems to be tied to them for now. While no one can exactly predict the future, the current signs point to Barcelona and Cubarsi continuing their partnership.
