PSG not targeting Arsenal’s Nuno Tavares

RMC Sport is reporting that Arsenal full-back Nuno Tavares (23) isn’t a target for Paris Saint-Germain, despite links in the Spanish media.

Tavares spent last season on loan at PSG’s fierce rivals Olympique de Marseille. The Portuguese full-back had a mixed season with Les Phocéens, displaying his attacking prowess, but also highlighting once again his defensive frailties. His work rate was also called into question by Igor Tudor, who dropped Tavares for his lack of effort in training.

Relevo revealed on Friday morning that Tavares was a target for PSG, who are potentially in the market for Juan Bernat. The Spaniard is touted for a departure, whilst Nuno Mendes is once again injured. However, RMC Sport have denied reporting from the other side of the Pyrenees. The link is “unfounded,” according to the French publication.

Tavares’ future, therefore, remains undecided. Whilst he has returned from Marseille, who haven’t made the deal permanent, it is unclear whether his long-term future lies at the Emirates Stadium.
