Neymar was in the stands at the Stade Jean Bouin as Paris Saint-Germain took on Chelsea in the Women’s Champions League last night.

The 30-year-old was joined by his PSG teammates Presnel Kimpembe and Nuno Mendes.

The trio were left disappointed by their team’s performance, however, with Chelsea edging past PSG 1-0.

What happened in Chelsea’s Champions League match against PSG?

Chelsea would have been desperate to get off to a good start in the Champions League after they failed to reach the knockout stages last year.

An encounter against last season’s semi-finalists was a hard task, but the Blues put on an impressive defensive display to take all three points from PSG.

Millie Bright scored the game’s only goal in the 27th minute, firing home a well-taken volley.

Chelsea did not create many more chances after their goal, but in turn, the team were hardly threatened by a lacklustre PSG side.

Neymar shared a photo from the match on his Instagram Story, but gave no further insight into his thoughts on the game.

What’s up next for Chelsea?

Chelsea, who are currently without manager Emma Hayes as she recovers from emergency surgery, will play Brighton in the Women's Super League on Sunday.

Their next Champions League match is against Albanian side Vllaznia, who lost 2-0 to Real Madrid in yesterday’s other Group A fixture.

With Arsenal thrashing defending champions Lyon 5-1 earlier this week, Chelsea’s general manager Paul Green believes the tide is turning for English teams in Europe.

"I think it shows how far the English league has come that ourselves and Arsenal have come to the top two teams in France and got two victories," he said.

"I think it's a really positive thing for the English league and does show how far it's come.

"In years gone by, it was probably unthinkable that teams would come to France and win games like this.

"Women's football is riding the crest of a wave after the Euros. Players coming back into club environments are bringing positivity with them, so that's part of it."

Arsenal are the only British club to have won the Champions League, doing so in 2007.
