The January transfer window is two months away from opening, and the Kylian Mbappé transfer is beginning to ramp up. If the 22-year-old doesn’t extend his contract with Paris Saint-Germain, it’s likely the France international he heads to Real Madrid.

Italian football journalist and transfer market specialist Gianluca Di Marzio shed light on what the PSG superstar plans to do with his future during an interview with Wet Freunde.

Di Marzio stated that Mbappé intends to depart the Ligue 1 side for the Spanish club as he searches for a new challenge, which would be music to the ears of Real Madrid supporters.

“Mbappe decided to take another chance. It is not a question of money. It is not a question of leaving PSG or France. For him, it is about looking for a new challenge and wanting to play for Real Madrid,” Di Marzio said.

“When the will is strong, it is difficult to change your mind. He already has a contract with Real Madrid. He will not be able to sign until February. Only an incredible surprise can change this final decision of Kylian (Mbappe). He’s already made up his mind.”

When it comes to possible replacements for Mbappé at PSG, Di Marzio states that don’t count Les Parisiens to pursue Liverpool FC forward Mohamed Salah.

“Salah? I think he will sign a new contract with Liverpool. No other club can afford it. No other club has a need for this position. Barcelona has no money. I think Real Madrid will get Mbappe. PSG have Neymar and Messi. In Italy, no one,” Di Marzio said.

It will be interesting to see if this report ends up being accurate. January will shed some light on Mbappé’s plans and whether he wants to remain in the French capital or seek a new challenge with Los Blancos.
