It was absolute chaos on Sunday night for Luis Enrique and PSG. The Parisians crumbled against a formidable Chelsea side. Even worse, the French club’s coach could now face disciplinary action after a post-match brawl.

Luis Enrique found himself in the spotlight as soon as Chelsea began celebrating their Club World Cup triumph on Sunday night. The match ended in a whirlwind of drama. During a scuffle involving Donnarumma and several Chelsea players, Luis Enrique intervened, freed his arm, and landed a light slap on João Pedro, who instantly collapsed to the ground.

According to early reports from the Spanish press, the Spanish manager could face a suspension. He risks being sidelined for a considerable period. Refereeing expert Iturralde González explained the situation on Carrusel Deportivo: “Cards expire at the end of the season, but FIFA can still impose a sanction. Luis Enrique could be out for a long time after slapping João Pedro. He might even be banned from coaching for a while. You simply cannot touch an opponent’s face.”

In his post-match press conference, Luis Enrique offered a candid and somewhat bitter response, blending an admission of failure, a pointed jab, and a defense of his reputation.

“The opening minutes were very tough for us; they were full of energy. They simply outperformed us. It’s fine to mock PSG fans. There will always be critics, but that doesn’t bother me. Now it’s time to enjoy the holidays. I am not a loser. A loser is someone who gives up, who doesn’t get back up. You can be more or less disliked, but everyone who knows me appreciates me a lot. I don’t know if I’m too self-centered, but that’s how I see it.” said the PSG manager.
