L’Équipe are reporting that Juan Bernat (30) won’t be retained by Paris Saint-Germain, amidst the club’s attempts to tempt Bayern Munich’s Lucas Hernandez (27) to the Parc des Princes.

Bernat, who joined PSG from Bayern Munich in 2018, has a contract that runs until 2025. However, he is the second-choice, behind left-back Nuno Mendes. The Portuguese international’s injury issues this year have allowed Bernat to feature 35 times in all competitions, in which time he has scored twice and registered five assists.

PSG’s pursuit of Hernandez represents a threat to Bernat’s position at the club, and L’Équipe are reporting that the Spain international won’t be retained. L’Équipe reported yesterday that Hernandez has agreed personal terms with Les Parisiens, and is holding off on signing a new contract with Bayern Munich in the meantime. However, negotiating with the Bavarian club may be a more difficult task, as they are reportedly unwilling to sell the France international.
