Clubs around Europe look to be lining up for a future bidding war for the next big Argentine talent, Franco Mastantuono (16).
According to TNT Sport, the midfield prospect has caught the attention of the elite clubs during his short career with his formative club River Plate. The likes of Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester United, Barcelona, and even Real Madrid have been linked in recent weeks to the midfielder who has made only 10 appearances for the club since breaking into the first team this year.
Despite a career that has been played in the blink of an eye, River Plate have been keen to act quickly, with Olé reporting that the club has agreed with Mastantuono to extend his contract and increase his buyout clause from €30 million to €45 million. Which would make him the most expensive footballer in the Argentine league.
Urgency from the club has been informed by them previously being burned by the sale of Claudio Echeverri (18) to Manchester City for a price believed to have been around €25 million. A fee that River Plate believed did not come close to touching his actual worth.
