Liverpool winger Mohamed Salah is reportedly attracting interest from PSG as the Reds consider offloading him this summer.

According to Calciomercatoweb.it, Jurgen Klopp is not 'crazy with joy' over the 31-year-old's performances this season as the Reds continue to struggle in the Premier League. The report also states that PSG are considering a move for Salah, with Liverpool demanding at least €80m to part ways with him.

Additionally, Juventus attacker Federico Chiesa - who could cost at least €60m - has been mentioned as Salah's potential replacement as the Reds look to take advantage of their good relationship with the Serie A giants to agree a deal for the Italian. Chiesa suffered an ACL injury in January 2022 and made his much-awaited return in November after missing 42 games in all competitions for the Bianconeri.

Speaking to Sky Sport Italia (quotes via GOAL), Chiesa opened up on his injury nightmare and also spoke about his long road back to full fitness.

“It’s nice to be here and get back to the routine of before. It’s been 10 endless months, in August when it seemed to be there the finish line at every training session I had knee problems. I had to do check-ups, I flew back to Innsbruck, the month of August was really terrible but with strength and tenacity and the people who loved me I got out of it and it took me two months to get back into shape, then coming back with the team and the call with PSG was the closing of a circle.”

ANFIELD WATCH VERDICT

No. Err, just, no! Liverpool have endured a torrid 2022-23 campaign so far, but there's absolutely no way Jurgen Klopp has lost faith in Mohamed Salah, who, in all honesty, hasn't been as bad as he's made out to be. Much like the rest of the team, he hasn't been at his brilliant best, but he's racked up 17 goals and six assists in 29 appearances across all competitions for Liverpool, making him the Reds' most prolific forward by some distance.

He also signed a long-term deal last summer to become the highest-paid player in the club's decorated history, so we can confidently file this particular transfer rumor under the 'not happening' category.
