Paris Saint-Germain and AJ Auxerre played to a 0-0 draw on Friday night at Stade de l’Abbé-Deschamps. While the match lacked goals, Donovan Léon delivered an outstanding performance in goal to frustrate PSG.

PSG dominated the first half, registering seven shots on target compared to Auxerre’s one. Léon was the standout player, making four crucial saves to keep the visitors at bay, and the teams went into halftime still locked in a scoreless stalemate.

In the second half, Léon continued to shine. The 32-year-old goalkeeper made seven more saves, frustrating Luis Enrique’s side. Despite PSG firing 18 shots, Léon stood firm, ensuring the match ended in a goalless draw.

On X, Stats Du Foot spotlighted that Enrique has won only 63 percent of his matches in official competitions with PSG (45 of 72), the lowest win ratio for a Parisian coach since Antoine Kombouaré in 2011 (46 percent).

After the match, Enrique spoke with the media at his press conference and noted that the team generated its scoring chances, which is why he doesn’t see this result as a bad one despite the squad’s current three-match winless streak across all competitions.

“It is clear that the result does not reflect the performance,” Enrique said (h/t RMC Sport). “In the second half, Auxerre was dangerous in transitions. We pushed, [and] we had more chances. I have nothing to reproach my players for. We have exceptional statistics.

“I don’t see this sense of negativity around the club. I don’t have a magic formula. We need to convert our chances; our rival did not have many opportunities. We need to gain confidence.”
