According to Corriere della Serra, Paris Saint-Germain fans, who have travelled to Italy for Tuesday night’s UEFA Champions League fixture against AC Milan, have been violently assaulted by Milan ultras in an orchestrated attack.
Tens of Milan ultras participated in the armed attack on the travelling PSG fans in the Navigli district of Milan on Monday night. According to Italian media, the organised ambush was orchestrated by the Curva Sud Milan ultras, who were dressed all in black and armed with batons and flares. They attacked the PSG fans shouting “We are Milan!”
One PSG fan, a 34-year-old Frenchman, was hospitalised after suffering leg injuries from a knife attack, however, his injuries are not thought to be life-threatening. Corrire della Serra report that the attack may have been revenge for the skirmishes in the stands during PSG’s 3-0 win over AC Milan at the Parc des Princes in late October. Tuesday night’s fixture at the San Siro has been classed as a high-risk event.
