Paris Saint-Germain have completed the signing of highly-rated Rennes youngster Désiré Doué for a fee of €60m.
The 19-year-old has signed a five-year contract at the Parc des Princes, and becomes the second teenager to make a big money move to the French capital after João Neves made the switch from Benfica earlier in the month.
Doué made his professional debut for Rennes in August 2022, and became the first player born in 2005 to score in any of Europe’s top five leagues later that month.
He quickly became a key man for the Ligue 1 side, making 63 appearances and scoring seven goals, which saw him attract the attention of several big clubs, notably Bayern Munich, who lost out to PSG in the race to sign him.
Doué was part of the French squad that lost the Olympic final in dramatic fashion to Spain, and could serve as a direct replacement to the national team captain, Kylian Mbappé, at PSG in terms of star appeal, if not exact position, in the coming years.
