Paris Saint-Germain clinched the Coupe de la Ligue following a cagey game that was ultimately decided on penalties at the Stade de France.
Neymar began the game in determined mood and went very close to scoring after just six minutes, but could only curl his effort just wide of the goal.
It was otherwise a pretty uneventful first half until Lyon goalkeeper Anthony Lopes made an excellent stop from Idrissa Gueye two minutes before half-time.
Hossam Aouar then had a chance to score on the stroke of half-time, before PSG had a great chance on the counter, only for Ángel Di María to scuff his shot in a one-on-one with the goalkeeper.
In the second half, Memphis Depay went close to breaking a deadlock with a deflected effort which bounced just wide of Keylor Navas’s goal.
Thiago Mendes then forced a great save from Navas with a free-kick with just 10 minutes of normal time remaining.
But with the score locked at 0-0, the match went to extra-time.
The extra period produced little by way of chances for either side until Di María had a great chance in the 119th minute.
However, the Argentine was hacked down by Rafael, with the Lyon man shown a red card for his trouble.
Onto penalties we went and PSG ultimately prevailed 6-5, with Navas saving from Betrand Traoré and Pablo Sarabia netting the decisive spot-kick.
