Paris Saint-Germain club president Nasser Al-Khelaifi is hitting at FC Barcelona for how the Spanish went about acquiring funds to back their spending during the summer transfer window.

Barcelona had hundreds of millions of euros come into the club this summer by selling future TV rights and parts of its digital content arm to investment funds and a crypto firm.

The sell-off permitted the debt-riddled Catalan club to spend big on top new players while complying with Spanish football’s strict financial regulations.

However, this type of behavior didn’t sit well with Al-Khelaifi, who criticized the Spanish side during an interview with Politico.

“Is this fair? No, it’s not fair … Is it legal? I’m not sure,” Al-Khelaifi said. “If they allow them, others will do the same. UEFA of course have their own [financial] regulations. For sure they’re going to look at everything.”

These remarks aren’t the first made by the PSG club chief, who criticized Barcelona for making these decisions to secure funds. However, this resulted in La Liga president Javier Tebas firing back at Al-Khelaifi.

PSG’s relationship with the Spanish clubs isn’t the best, and these remarks made by Al-Khelaifi aren’t going to be helping matters.
