Paris Saint-Germain president Nasser Al-Khelaïfi was warned prior to Kylian Mbappé’s arrival at the club that the Frenchman would in the end seek out a move to Spain with Real Madrid.

That’s according to L’Équipe, who have this weekend provided an insight into the situation.

It is of course world football’s worst-kept secret that frontman Mbappé is all set to link up with La Liga champions Real Madrid this summer.

This comes after the 25-year-old allowed his contract terms with the aforementioned PSG to expire, in a direct effort to seal a move to the Santiago Bernabéu.

As much, for obvious reasons, marks a heavy blow for the Ligue 1 outfit, who have long been dependent on the brilliance of their talismanic wide-man.

If the latest word stemming from the media on Saturday is anything to go by, though, then PSG, in truth, should not have been at all surprised by the developments in Mbappé’s future.

As per the aforementioned L’Équipe, ahead of the board at the Parc des Princes sanctioning his arrival from Monaco in the first place, Al-Khelaïfi was informed that, some day down the line, Mbappé would attempt to engineer a move for himself to Madrid.

The PSG chief brushed as much off, adamant that ‘once he’s here, he’ll want to stay for 25 years’.

Safe to say, then, that Al-Khelaïfi’s confidence was a touch misplaced…
