PSG chief Leonardo stands by allowing Edinson Cavani to come off contract last summer.

Cavani left PSG for Manchester United in October as a Bosman transfer.

Leonardo explained on France Football: "As for Cavani, he knew his story was ending.

"(Mauro) Icardi and (Moise) Kean were recruited for this.

"Again, it was a question of a cycle ... And, last summer, it was the end of a cycle for some. All concerned knew it."
