PSG chief Leonardo has launched a blast at Real Madrid over their attempts to sign Kylian Mbappe this summer.

Inside the final year of his contract, Mbappe was the subject of offers for €160m and €180m from Real Madrid in the final days of the market.

Leonardo told Canal+ today: "The fact of that he stayed was the only thing that happened. We never thought of doing all this without Kylian. You know the story. We were not happy with the behaviour of Real Madrid."

The Brazilian explained: "To arrive in the last week of the transfer window and start negotiations for one of the best players in the world ... We were clear that the offer they made was not enough from our point of view, as it was less than what we paid for him. And as for the last offer that was talked about, it never came."

Leonardo says he still thinks that the club can extend the player's contract: “Mbappé represents the difference between the superficial and the deep. I don't see why Kylian has to leave at the end of this season. His relationship with PSG is deep. We do not think of anything else. I don't think anyone here can see the future without him."
