According to L’Équipe Paris Saint-Germain and Sunderland have reached an agreement over the permanent move of defender Timothée Pembélé (20). Both clubs reportedly reached an agreement on midday on Friday, with an agreement in principle for the defender to sign a long-term contract with the EFL Championship side.

Last season the former Bordeaux man five appearances under Christophe Galtier, notably in periods of last season which saw PSG injury-ridden in defence. He made his Champions League debut, coming off the bench to face Bayern Munich in the round of 16.

The 20-year old has made a total of 37 appearances in Ligue 1, which included a loan move to Bordeaux during which he played 28 times, scoring three goals, and providing one assist from right-back. Sunderland previously dealt with PSG last year, as Edouard Michut was sent on loan to the Mackems, helping the side reach the Championship play-offs on their return to England’s second tier.
