Antonio Rudiger is coming to the end of his contract at Chelsea, just as he finds himself in the middle of the best run of form he’s had for the club.

That means he can demand what he wants, and the minimum he will get if he ends up staying at Chelsea is a colossal wage rise.

But as time goes by, it’s increasingly hard to see him staying.

We’re in mid-September now, and just 3 months away from the point where he can start legally speaking to clubs abroad about a pre-contract.

There are already big names queueing up – both Real Madrid and PSG are cited in the Daily Mail today as interested in snapping him up next summer.

That interest from other clubs will only increase, and Chelsea know they’re likely going to have to match or beat those offers to keep their centre-back. Given he’s 29 before the end of this season and will want a 4 or 5 year deal, it’s difficult to imagine the Blues bending backwards to keep him when there are other options around.
