France and Portugal will battle on Friday for a spot in the UEFA Euro 2024 semifinal. However, manager Didier Deschamps is making changes to his potential starting 11, including inserting a Paris Saint-Germain player.
Les Bleus have struggled to amount any type of attack, but they have secured the results to allow them to reach the quarterfinals. Nonetheless, scoring only three goals in four matches isn’t enough and changes are reportedly coming.
According to L’ÉQUIPE, Randal Kolo Muani is set to start against Portugal on Friday night. France are expected to line up in the same way as they did vs. Belgium in the Round of 16, with the only change being Kolo Muani replacing Marcus Thuram and Eduardo Camavinga for Adrien Rabiot.
Kolo Muani didn’t have credit for the goal against Belgium, but his shot hit off Jan Vertonghen for an own goal late in the match that allowed France to secure the 1-0.
It will be interesting to see if Kolo Muani can be the spark that helps the attack overcome this low-scoring run during this tournament.
