Roberto De Zerbi gave his assessment of Olympique de Marseille’s title chances after they defeated Olympique Lyonnais yesterday evening.
Matchday five in Ligue 1 would be brought to a close by the Choq des Olympiques. Les Phocéens would get the better of their bitter rivals in a thrilling 3-2 victory at the Groupama Stadium.
The victory would take Marseille back to the top of the table, level on points with Paris Saint-Germain in first and AS Monaco in third. Already there are whispers of a three-horse title race building in France. However, it is a topic that Roberto De Zerbi was quick to dismiss in his postmatch comments attended by Get French Football News.
“It wouldn’t be serious of me to talk about that. We’ve only just begun our journey, whereas PSG and Monaco are ahead of us. We started building in June […], I don’t know where it will lead, but we’ll try to win every game,” the former Brighton and Hove Albion head coach stated.
