Sports Zone are reporting that Paris Saint-Germain have accepted Everton’s offer for Hugo Ekitiké (21). It is now up to the player to decide his next destination with L’Équipe reporting that the former Stade de Reims forward is keen on a move to RC Lens.
As reported by RMC Sport on Wednesday, Ekitiké is one of five players who was informed by Luis Campos and Luis Enrique yesterday that he is surplus to requirements at PSG. In his debut season with Les Parisiens, Ekitiké scored just four Ligue 1 goals, but the French forward is reportedly surprised that he is being asked to find a new club.
Despite a difficult campaign at the Parc des Princes, there is plenty of interest in Ekitiké. As reported by Sports Zone on Wednesday, Everton submitted a significant offer worth €35m plus €5m in bonuses. The publication now reports that this has been expected, and the form of the offer doesn’t matter. Whether it is a straight sale or a loan with an obligation to make the move permanent, the bid will be accepted.
Other sides are interested, including West Ham United, Eintracht Frankfurt and Lens. L’Équipe confirms the interest from the latter two, however, Ekitiké has a preference to join Lens, who will this year feature in the Champions League.
