Ole Werner, head coach: "We're satisfied with how we've ended the season. We want to play in the manner that's defined us so far this season, which we managed to do. We were very clinical and were able to create chances on the counter-attack. Our set pieces then paved the way for what was a strong performance on our way to taking all three points. The club and the players would have deserved for this result to mean more, but nevertheless, we're extremely proud of the development the team has undergone."

Marco Friedl, captain: "We're satisfied with our performance today. If we defend well, then we're always in a position to score goals. We were in the right place at the right time today and managed to maintain our momentum after the break. There was a period where we lost five straight games in the second half of the season. That proved fatal in terms of our chances of qualifying for Europe. Hat's off for the way we played from that point onwards, though."

Marvin Ducksch, goalscorer to make it 3-0: "We played well once again today and had everything under control. We wanted to finish the season strongly, which we also managed to do. It was a really strong season from us and the team showed character throughout, as well as a willingness to improve. It's difficult for me right now, because I think I've managed to pick up an injury on the final matchday. We'll see tomorrow how bad it is, but I'm hoping that it won't be anything serious."

Jens Stage, goalscorer to make it 2-0: "As a team, we put in a really strong campaign and have come up just two points short in the end – that's football for you. After the period we went through in February, we did well to get back on track. I'm proud of the team and of the way we worked hard to get out of it. Once the summer break is over, we'll be able to take a lot of that with us into next season."

Keke Topp, goalscorer to make it 4-1: "I feel relieved, on top of feeling good. To score our first and last goals of the season is a cool feeling. After being out injured for a while and not playing much recently, I'm very proud of my goal. To head into the summer break on an unbeaten run is a good feeling. Now, it's about enjoying the break and being able to rest and recover."

Clemens Fritz, managing director for sport: "During the week we spoke about wanting to sign off with a strong performance. A huge compliment to the team for deservedly picking up three points today. We're aware that we need to manage to play to our best week in and out and that February was a bad month for us. Nevertheless, we put in a strong season in which our coaching staff and the players worked well together. We all would have backed us to get at least 51 points at the start of the season."
