It’s not been a good start to the season for Valencia, who have only one point from their opening four La Liga matches. On top of this, the injury problems are building up within Ruben Baraja’s squad.

Key defenders Jose Gaya and Mouctar Diakhaby are already out long-term, and another indispensable player set for a spell on the sidelines is Hugo Duro, Valencia’s top scorer this season with two goals. As reported by Marca, he is set to be out of action for the next 3-4 weeks after he suffered a calf injury during Thursday’s training session.

Duro’s injury comes at a terrible time for Los Che. Rafa Mir is currently away from the first team following his recent arrest amid allegations of sexual assault, while Dani Gomez also suffered an injury recently. As things stand, Valencia are without a natural striker, which could force Baraja to be experimental in the coming weeks.
