Despite going through three managers in one season and a slow summer transfer window, Anderlecht ended up with European football next season. The side were well off the pace of the top three during the play-offs but were the clear fourth best side in the league this season. Besnik Hasi is going to get another crack next season, although this appears like a move that doesn’t show much ambition. The side did make the Belgian Cup final, although they lost to a better side in Club Brugge.
It has been quite a turnaround for Colin Coosemans. Going into the season, the goalkeeper has not played more than 30 games in a season since his KV Mechelen days in 2017/2018. He became the sides number one this season and played well in 54 matches. Arguably, Coosemans was the league wide goalkeeper of the season.
22-year-old Moussa N’Diaye had a decent campaign, with one goal and two assists from full-back over 41 games. The former Barcelona youngster has been heavily scouted this season and could earn a move to a new club in the summer.
Working out a clear strategy. The feeling around the club is that there appears to be no clear plan for how they are going to get themselves back to being one of the top sides in Belgium. The club will hope that Mihajlo Cvetkovic will be a player that can begin that revival, with the Serbian already signed for next season.
