Eintracht Frankfurt have handed professional contracts to three more young talents in Fousseny Doumbia, Alessandro Gaul Souza and Derek Boakye Osei.
Fousseny Doumbia came to Eintracht from TSV 1860 Munich at the age of 17 and has been a key player for the U19 team and then the U21s. The 20-year-old, who can play in both the centre and on the left of defence, missed just three matches in the Regionalliga Südwest last season. Doumbia holds Malian citizenship as well as German and recently made his debut for the Mali U21 side.
Alessandro Gaul Souza, 18, has been at Eintracht Frankfurt since January 2020. The versatile forward has regularly demonstrated his quality in front of goal in the last few years, scoring 17 goals in 38 appearances (plus six assists) for the U17s and 10 in 15 games for the U19 team, including two against Leipzig in the round of 16 of the German U19 championship. In the most recent campaign, Gaul Souza also featured for the U21s and netted twice in 13 Regionalliga appearances. The Madrid-born German with Brazilian roots represented Germany at U15, U16 and U17 level before debuting for the U18 team in May in a 1-0 win over Denmark.
Derek Boakye Osei has also come through the ranks at Eintracht. He moved to Riederwald in summer 2018 at the age of just 11 and went on to progress through all the youth teams. The 18-year-old is capable of playing in multiple defensive positions, primarily at centre-back. He has made 81 appearances in an Eagles shirt from U17 level onwards, registering eight goals and two assists, and was a key part of the U19 side last season. Boakye Osei was born in Spain and played three times for his country’s U17 team in 2022.
Sporting director Timmo Hardung said: “In Fousseny, Alessandro and Derek, we’ve tied down three more talents from our academy for the long term. All three have earned it through their development, their ability and their work in training. We’re confident they can take the next steps by gaining match practice with the U21s.”
