City’s Gracie Prior figured for 65 minutes as England’s Women’s Under-23s beat Belgium 2-1 in what was the Young Lionesses’ final game of the 2024/25 international campaign.

The City defender produced an assured display for Emma Coates’ outfit in a match that was played in Murcia, Spain.

Though the Young Lionesses made a positive start, it was Belgium who struck first, Davinia Vanmechelen curling home a superb strike on three minutes to open the scoring.

England quickly got back on level terms however with skipper Missy Bo Kearns converting a 15th minute penalty after a handball in the Belgium area.

Within six minutes the England youngsters were ahead, Isobel Goodwin heading home Freya Godfrey’s cross.

England were then afforded the opportunity to further extend the advantage after being awarded a second spot-kick of the game shortly after the restart after substitute Georgia Mullet had been tripped in box.

However, this time around Kearns was unsuccessful with her penalty, Belgium ‘keeper Jorijn Covent producing an excellent stop.

Prior’s City colleague Naomi Layzell was an unused substitute.
