Orlando Pride forward Barbra Banda this week has edged former striker Alex Morgan for the second-most goals in club history with 24. The record score occurred during the team’s mastery of the Utah Royals, 3-1.
Banda’s performance in the match filled a bushel basket of records for all to see. That’s because all three Pride goals came from Banda’s foot.
Her seven goals on the season tie her for the Golden Boot, with her assist serving as the tie-breaker. She also passed Morgan for second-most in the club by posting her eighth game-winning goal of her career. That’s the second for her this season.
But what drew all eyes in the NWSL to this match is that Banda scored the third hat trick in NWSL history. This is also the first road hat trick in the league, and Banda is the first African international with this achievement.

As the Pride won the NWSL 2024 Championship 1-0, it was Angelina getting a through ball to Banda for the only score. All Pride players get ready to play for each match. With their personnel, once they hit the pitch, they’re also ready to win.
After winning it all last season, the team needed to find new plateaus of performance to reach. Now it seems that each match, they find those heights and work to reach them.
In helping Banda get her hat trick, forward Ally Watt and midfielder Haley McCutcheon got their first assists of the 2025 season.
