FC Barcelona are set to return to action soon as they are scheduled to face off against CA Osasuna soon. A crucial La Liga fixture, it is one that La Blaugrana desperately want to win. Unfortunately for Barcelona, however, the timing of this postponed game is set on a rather uncomfortable date.

Despite the fact that the international break is still going on and several Barça players are away with their respective National teams, the new date for the game was set for the 27th of March. Due to this scheduling, Barcelona are potentially going to be without some key players.

Moreover, there was a lot of worry about whether or not some of the team’s injured players would be able to return by then or not either. While the case of Marc Casado is a more extreme one, the situations of both Inigo Martinez and Pau Cubarsi seemed a little more hopeful.

Fortunately, as highlighted by Fabrizio Romano, one of the two players is already back in group training. The 33-year-old Spanish centre-back Inigo Martinez is now back in training and looks set to return against Osasuna.

This is a big boost for Barcelona, as they would have been extremely understaffed otherwise had it not been for the veteran’s return. With Cubarsi also injured and Ronald Araujo’s presence still being doubtful for the clash due to his commitment to the Uruguay National team, only Eric Garcia seemed to be the available option.

However, with Martinez back, there is a lot more hope now. Furthermore, Pau Cubarsi is also hoping to be back soon as the reports on his injury so far have looked positive. It simply remains to be seen now just how good of an available line-up Hansi Flick will have at his disposal by the time the game ends up happening.

Interestingly, Martinez’s return has come sooner than expected. The Spaniard could have potentially needed more time to fully recover, but it seems that the Barcelona centre-back is back and ready to compete again under Flick’s guidance.
