England will move into the final stage of their preparations for the UEFA Women’s EURO 2022 this evening when they travel to Zürich to face Switzerland in an international friendly.

The Lionesses have already recorded comprehensive victories over both Belgium and The Netherlands in warm-up matches for this summer’s EUROs and they will hope to make it three wins from three against a Swiss side who are arguably not in great form.

Nils Nielsen’s Switzerland side are in relatively good shape ahead of this evening’s match, however, the nation will be without goalkeeper Gaëlle Thalmann who sustained a head injury in training. Thalmann will spend a few days in recovery. Captain Lia Wälti could feature after overcoming a recent thigh injury but Nadine Riesen may not be available following her late call-up to Switzerland’s EURO squad.

England head coach Sarina Wiegman has confirmed that forward Ellen White has returned to training after recovering from COVID-19. The player’s fitness will be managed and Wiegman may not risk her with the start of the UEFA Women’s EURO now less than a week away. Full-back Lucy Bronze will miss the game this evening through illness which is not COVID-19 related.

The international friendly between Switzerland and England kicks-off at 5pm and will be broadcast live on ITV4.
