FC Nantes travel to Montpellier hoping to continue their quest for Ligue 1 survival, whilst the hosts could mathematically achieve the feat in Friday evening's Ligue 1 Uber Eats action.

Les Canaris are once again on the road following a ninth home defeat in a row last time out to local rivals Stade Rennais (0-3). Survival will be the order of the day, as a win for the hosts Montpellier could secure their Ligue 1 Uber Eats status for next season. Likewise Nantes will be hoping for a further boost to their survival bid, as they sit 14th in the table only three points above Le Havre in the relegation play-off position.

Michel Der Zakarian's side recently secured their third win in four games against Reims last weekend thanks to a goal from Modibo Sagnan, and a Mousa Tamari late solo-effort from Mousa Tamari (1-2). With promising wins over Le Havre and Lorient before a draw to Clermont, they now sit comfortably in 12th place with 36 points.

Les Canaris boosted by the return of Tino Kadewere & Mathis Abline

After not being available against Rennes because of his loan status from the Breton club, Matthis Abline will return to Antoine Koumbaré's squad, alongside a return for attacker Tino Kadewere. "I'm happy to get Tino and Matthis back," said Koumbaré at his pre-match press conference, adding "they will both be additional strength for us."

Meanwhile, Montpellier welcomed the return of Jordan Ferri following his suspension against Reims. Ferri is expected to come back into a midfield partnership with Joris Chotard, as Becir Omeragic will likely drop to the bench.
