Manchester United and Leicester City will be hoping to put down solid claims for a place in the quarter-finals of this season’s FA Women’s Continental League Cup when the pair meet at The Leigh Sports Village on Sunday.

The Red Devils are a point adrift of group leaders Manchester City with five points from two games while Sunday’s opponents Leicester City have three points with two games left to play in the group stage.

Manchester United boss Marc Skinner will again be without Martha Harris and Martha Thomas with both players not yet ready to return from their respective injuries. Kirsty Smith has picked up a knock and won’t be involved on Sunday but centre-back Millie Turner is available for selection.

Head of Women’s Football Development Emile Heskey takes charge of Leicester City for their trip to the North West with new manager Lydia Bedford not coming in until Monday. The Foxes will again be without Hannah Cain who has been ruled out for the season while goalkeeper Kirstie Levell and forward Lachante Paul went under the surgeon’s knife this week. Youngster Connie Scofield is also sidelined.

The FA Women’s Continental League Cup fixture between Manchester United and Leicester City kicks-off at midday on Sunday.
