The Cityzens are the current holders of the FA Women’s Continental Tyres League Cup after beating Chelsea 3-1 in last season’s final at AFC Wimbledon’s Cherry Red Records Stadium.
Manchester City head coach Gareth Taylor remains without forward Lauren Hemp who is recovering from a minor injury. Vicky Losada and Alanna Kennedy may also be sidelined but Hayley Raso could return. Youngster Ruby Mace could be offered some game time after recently returning to fitness. Taylor could opt to draft some of the club’s academy stars into the squad to allow key first team players the opportunity to get some rest.
Sunderland manager Melanie Reay is not thought to have any new injury concerns to contend with, although there has been some illness in the camp this week. Long term absentees Keira Ramshaw, Faye Mullen, Emily Hutchinson and Abby Towers all continue to be sidelined.
Manchester City’s FA Women’s Continental Tyres League Cup fixture against Sunderland kicks-off at 2pm on Sunday afternoon. Tickets remain on-sale and can be purchased by clicking here.
