Manchester City and Everton will get their respective FA Women’s Continental League Cup campaigns underway when the two sides meet at The Academy Stadium on Wednesday evening.

The pair have been placed in a difficult group alongside Manchester United, Durham and Leicester City. Only the group winners are assured of a place in the quarter-finals.

Manchester City again go into the match without a number of first team players through injury. Ellie Roebuck, Karen Bardsley, Lucy Bronze, Steph Houghton, Hayley Raso and Chloe Kelly remain sidelined, as does midfielder Vicky Losada, although the Spaniard is not too far from fitness.

Everton are facing a tough period themselves on the injury front with only four outfield players having been named on the bench at Arsenal on Sunday. Manager Willie Kirk continues to be without Danish international attacker Nicoline Sørensen through long term injury while Simone Magill, Lucy Graham and Nathalie Björn were again missing at the weekend. Claire Emslie was also a notable absentee from Kirk’s squad.

The FA Women’s Continental League Cup group match between Manchester City and Everton at The Academy Stadium kicks-off at 7pm on Wednesday evening. Fans can still purchase their tickets for the match by clicking here.
