Only Arsenal have won the trophy on more occasions that Manchester City but The Cityzens have now gone almost three years since their last tournament success.
Manchester City head coach Gareth Taylor could have goalkeeper Karima Benameur Taieb and midfielder Caroline Weir back in the squad following their recent absences while Khadija ‘Bunny’ Shaw is likely to be available for further minutes after making her return at the weekend. The Cityzens remain without Ellie Roebuck, Karen Bardsley, Esme Morgan and Chloe Kelly.
Second tier side Bristol City travel to the North West on the back of a nine-match unbeaten run in all competitions. The Robins are not thought to have any new injury concerns to contend with but defender Naomi Layzell could again be missing with the player absent from the squad which travelled to Blackburn Rovers on Sunday.
