The Cityzens are likely to need a maximum of four points from their final two Barclays FA Women’s Super League matches to qualify for Europe given their superior goal difference over third-placed Manchester United. Gareth Taylor’s side’s latest match comes against a Birmingham City side who will be relegated to the FA Women’s Championship if they do not cause an upset and record a shock victory at The Academy Stadium.
Manchester City are not thought to have any fresh injury concerns off the back of Saturday’s 7-2 home victory over Brighton & Hove Albion. Jess Park and Vicky Losada are not yet ready to return while The Cityzens remain without Karen Bardsley, Steph Houghton and Esme Morgan.
The Birmingham City squad is believed to be in good shape ahead of the club’s latest match. Long term absentees Arabella Suttie and Lily Simkin remain sidelined but Cecilie Sandvej is edging towards making a return.
The Barclays FA Women’s Super League fixture between Manchester City and Birmingham City kicks-off at 7pm on Wednesday evening.
