A look ahead to Thursday's Yorkshire derby.

Leeds United Women return to FAWNL Division One North action as they welcome York City Ladies to Garforth’s Bannister Prentice Stadium.

Initially scheduled to be played during February, the original clash was one of a number to have fallen foul of the weather in recent weeks, leaving Simon Wood’s side playing catch up on the teams around them heading into the final stages of the season.

The Whites sit sixth in the standings but can rise above Stockport County and Barnsley into fourth should they win their games in hand.

Last time out in league action, United were narrowly beaten 3-2 by promotion-chasing Durham Cestria, despite goals from Katie Astle and Izzy Elliot on Wearside.

York, meanwhile, recently appointed Chris Holloway in their bid for survival and were unlucky to not claim all three points last time out against Doncaster Rovers Belles.

Goals from Milly Ash and Ella Duffield had put the MinsterBelles into a two-goal lead, but an inspired second-half comeback from the visitors saw the spoils shared at the LNER Community Stadium.

Currently one point off safety, 11th-placed York have bolstered their ranks recently with the acquisition of former Chelsea defender Ocean Rolandsen.

The 26-year-old comes with a wealth of experience, having also played for London Bees and Sheffield United in the Women's Championship and Hearts in the Scottish Women's Premier League.

The two sides have already met once this season in a memorable September evening for United away from home.

A Jess Rousseau brace and Kath Smith goal put the Whites into a commanding three goal lead at the LNER Community Stadium, before Nicola Brown grabbed a late consolation for the hosts.
